- According to reports in Sky Sports, Arsenal are set to sign 2014 World Cup winner Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich in a deal worth £12.75million(₦6 billion) in this January’s transfer window.
The Bundesliga giants are ready to let the Germany international leave after falling in the firt team pecking order with Benjamin Pavard, Javi Martinez and Lucas Hernandez being the preferred options. Boateng has made just 15 appearances for the Bavarians in this current campaign.
Arsenal new manager, Mikel Arteta claimed that his team are keen to bolster their centre back options with Callum Chambers ruled out for the rest of the season.
“My obligation is to give my opinion on the things we can improve. Obviously we have a bad injury with Calum a few days ago that will change our plans at the back,” Arteta said after United’s game.
“The reality is we will not be able to do much. I’m more concerned about getting players back from injury and try to improve the players I have here, get everybody on board and understanding what we’re trying to do. And if something extra comes up and we think it is the right opportunity to improve what we have, then let’s do it.”
Is Boateng a good option for Arsenal?
